Summary

In this article the aspects of historical and cultural development of the holy Land in the second part of 1st century B.C. is considered, in particular during Irod the First reign (37-4 yy). On the basis of short analysis of the social, economical and political state of Iudei the author drew attention on the archeological sites which testify the building activity of Irod.
