Summary

The article deals with the historical preconditions which promoted the foundation of Lutsk Exaltation of the Cross Brotherhood as a center of Orthodoxy Consolidation in Western Ukraine. The Brotherhood activity was aimed at the position of the Orthodox Church strengthening, religious-educational and charity work, struggle for national rights and culture of the Ukrainian people.
