Publication Ethics
Ethical standards for publishing exist to provide high-quality research.
Submitting an article for publication, the author hereby expresses the agreement to published full text of the article in the Internet, agrees with the recommendations of the Committee of Publication Ethics.
The authors consent to the collection and processing of personal data for the purpose of their transfer to the database in accordance with the Law of Ukraine No. 2297-VI “On the Protection of Personal Data” of 01.06.2010.
Authors reserve the right to the authorship of their work and allow others to freely distribute the published work with mandatory reference to the author(s) of the original work.
Principles of Editor and Publisher Ethics
The scientific edition editorial board reserves to itself the right to reject articles which do not meet the journal’s requirements and subjects.
The editorial board can reject the manuscript without reading it, if it considers that the work does not correspond to the journal’s profile.
The editorial board do not considered such phenomena as: plagiarism; re-publication; conflict of interest; copyright disputes; breakdown result: research; research fraud.
The editorial board has the right to remove a published article if: the article was previously published in other publications; facts of plagiarism were discovered; fabrication and falsification detected; there is a violation of other ethical principles of the publication. About this fact of removal of the article, the editors inform the author who submitted the article.
In some cases, authors of a scientific article to be considered by a journal may request the withdrawal of their manuscript. A corresponding request can be made only before the publication of the article.
Authors are responsible for the reliability of information in articles, the accuracy of names, statistical data, surnames, and quotations.
Reviewing
Reviewing of manuscripts is an important stage in the process of their publication. Each scholar is obliged to perform a certain reviewing work process.
All the materials submitted for publication pass a double-blind review process.
The editorial board reserves the right to reject the article or return it for revision. The author is obliged to revise the article in accordance with the comments of reviewers or the editorial board. If the author disagrees with the reader’s opinion, he has the right to give a reasoned answer to the journal’s editors. Under such circumstances, his/her article is reviewed at a meeting of the journal’s editorial board. The editorial board can send the article to another expert for revision or revision.
Simultaneous submission of manuscripts to more than one journal is not allowed.
The manuscript submitted for review is a confidential document.
After receiving positive reviews, the manuscript must undergo literary and technical editing.
Minor stylistic or formal corrections that do not affect the content of the article are made by the literary and technical editor without agreement with the author.
The final decision regarding the possibility and expediency of publication is taken by the meeting of the editorial board as a whole.
The recommendation regarding the publication of the next edition of the journal (with an indication of the content) is carried out by the academic council of the Volyn Orthodox Theological Academy and recorded in the corresponding protocol.
The Rules for Authors
The principal duty of the author consists in giving an exact report on the conducted research and, also, in stirring an objective discussion of its essentiality. Authors should present their results accurately and unequivocally so, that their conclusions can be confirmed by other scientists without faking of the data acquisition or any inadequate manipulation of them.
Authors are obliged to properly formalize borrowings in the form of citations or references.
The article should be structured, contain enough references and be formatted according to the requirements.
The authors of the articles bear full responsibility for the content of the articles and for the very fact of their publication.
If the editorial board has received information from a third party that the publication contains significant errors, the author is obliged to remove the work or correct the errors as soon as possible.
Authorship and co-authorship
Authorship implies responsibility for the published work.
Authors of the article are considered to be only persons who have made a significant scientific contribution to the presented work and share responsibility for the results obtained. According to the recommendations of the ICMJE, these are individuals who: have made a significant contribution to the development of the concept or structure of the work; prepared research material or critically reviewed it for important intellectual content; approved the final version for publication; agree to be responsible for all aspects of the work, ensuring that questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part of the work will be properly investigated and resolved.
The author who submits the manuscript for publication is responsible for including in the list of co-authors only those who meet the authorship requirements, and is responsible for the consent of the co-authors of the article for its publication in the journal.
The procedure for consideration of complaints and appeals
The journal’s editorial board intends to promptly and constructively respond to all complaints and resolve them.
Complaints provide an opportunity for the editorial board to improve the quality of the journal, to improve the content of the publishing policy and procedure.
Proposals or complaints should be sent to the e-mail address of the journal: vb@vpba.edu.ua, clearly indicating the nature of the complaint, its subject and authorship.
All messages will be processed within thirty working days. Depending on the complexity of the complaint, additional time may be required to complete the investigation.
The complaint must be concise, specific and contain sufficient data to demonstrate any possible violation of publication ethics.
The journal’s editorial board refrains from conducting an appropriate investigation when complaints are made in an offensive, threatening or defamatory manner.
Conflict of interest
In order to avoid potential conflicts of interest, it is the journal’s policy that authors and reviewers undertake to report facts that may affect the objectivity or impartiality of decision-making.
When submitting an article for publication, all authors are responsible for declaring any financial or personal relationships with any public or private organizations that could influence the results of their work.
Authors must declare any non-financial relationships that may cause a conflict of interest in their manuscript.
